It is the same old debate with 325 and 330. Very little difference between 325 and 328. 328= plain jane and 330=bigger engine and more to play with depending on options. 330 is older but alot of people dumped them for the 335. They are probably a better deal since they are cheaper these days. Just my 2 cents.
Basically, the older 325's and newer 328's have about the same HP, but the 328 has more torque. The 323 is a detuned 2.5-liter version of the 328 engine. Although it has less power than the earlier 325's, you can upgrade the exhaust (header-back), and flash program the computer, and make more power than the 325's.
# Q: What are the main differences between the 2000 323i # Rear diffrential ratio is 3.11 on the manual 323i and 2.93 on the 328i automatic and the 328i. # The 328i gets a forged vs. cast crankshaft in the 323i. (Turbo consideration) # The 328i gets larger brake rotors 11.8" in front; 11.6" in rear.
Again in 1996, Alpina introduced the B3 3.2, following the S50 engine's upgrade to 3.2 litres. With the new 3.2 models, Alpinas were now based on the 328i and it's 2.8L engine, rather than 325i models. In 1995, the B8 was released. The B8 4.6 was based on the 4 litre V8 from the E34 5-series, put in to a 328i-based shell.
Gz3mvn. The difference is that if you drive a 325i, you are a cheapskate that can't afford a newer and improved 328i. They are both E36s, the differences stem from the fact they were manufactured in different years. There is no difference until the 328i and all other E36s had the facelift in 1997. The detail, well you can look that up for yourself.
Now, now. Many of us would be happy to save money wherever we can. Party B actually worked up a comparative spreadsheet to figure out the monetary difference between using mid-range gas versus premium, assuming a loss of MPG using the former. (This was for a 328i non-turbo.) The fact that you use more less-expensive gas does tend to lower any

(m50) The 328 uses the newer m52 block which in ealier years gave problems (overheat once and they die),this was rectified with recalls and either steel liners fitted or new engine. I had an e36 325 for 12 months and gave it as much
iTrader: ( 0) Drivetrain wise, I believe the 335i has beefier brakes. The 335i comes with standard equipment that is optional on the 328i: Adaptive Xenon headlights (+$950) Sunroof (+1000; comes on the 328i as part of ZPP) Alarm (+$400) There may be a few other differences, i.e. gear ratios, front spring rates, etc.
N52 engine common to 325, 328 and 330i has the following differences: 325i - single stage intake manifold, valvetronic, 215hp 328i - single stage intake manifold, direct injection, 230hp 330i - 3 stage intake manifold, valvetronic, 255hp As manufacturers make the inevitable climb up the horsepower ladder, it may become necessary for BMW to add the 3 stage intake to the 328i, which could make
